SUN Bucks, also known as Summer EBT, is a permanent food assistance program designed to help families with school-age children buy groceries during the summer months when access to school meals is limited. Eligible families receive a one-time benefit of $120 per child (equivalent to $40 per month for June, July, and August) on a dedicated EBT card that works like a debit card at most grocery stores and farmers' markets. While many children who receive benefits like CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal are automatically enrolled, other families—including those with children attending schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program—may need to apply by submitting a Universal Benefits Application to our school district by August 31, 2026.
