The History of Happy Valley
The Happy Valley Union School District is a two-campus district located in the outskirts of Anderson, CA. The district is centered in the small town of Happy Valley. The Happy Valley School District is composed of a primary school and an elementary school.

The Shasta SELPA will be holding a public hearing regarding district 2025-26 Extendend School Year (ESY) waiver requests on February 24, 2026.

Our next school board meeting will be held on February 11~
Closed Session starts at 4:30 p.m. with a 10 minute open statement period for the public. The board will then go into session from 4:40 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Our regular Open Session board meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Elementary School Cafeteria.
Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month. Board agendas and packets are posted to the website on the Friday preceeding Wednesday's board meeting.

Our district is offering a selection of clubs and camps for students this season. Details for each program—including meeting days and times—are listed below for families who are participating or who wish to participate.
MATH - Brain Busters Club runs from Jan. 27th - Feb. 12th
HVP - Tues. & Thurs. 2:30PM - 3:30PM HVE - Tues. & Thurs. 2:45PM - 3:45PM
Character Counts Club - runs from Feb. 4th - March 18th (excluding Feb. 18th)
HVP - Wednesdays 2:30PM - 3:30PM HVE - Wednesdays 2:45PM - 3:45PM
Market & Gardening Camp - February 18th, 19th & 20th
HV Elementary School - 8:00AM - 5:00PM ***Attendance Recovery Sessions will be offered from 7:45AM - 11:45AM (optional)

The CalKIDS program is a free college savings initiative from the State of California. Through CalKIDS, every eligible public school student is automatically provided with a college savings account, funded by the state to help jumpstart future education goals. There’s no cost to participate, and no paperwork required to get started. Parents can access their child’s account online and even contribute additional funds if they choose. This is a wonderful opportunity to begin planning early for college or career training. To learn more or to check your child’s eligibility, visit www.calkids.org.

We’re excited to share that, thanks to a grant from the State of California, brand-new Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten classrooms are being built right here at our school!
These beautiful new learning spaces are being designed just for our youngest students and will provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment to support early learning. Construction is underway, with completion expected in December or January 2026.
We can’t wait to welcome new TK and Kindergarten families into these state-of-the-art classrooms—now is the perfect time to consider enrolling your child!
